La mesa

‘La Mesa’, a weekly live programme that combines current affairs, prominent guests, conversation and entertainment. Seeking a different way of talking about what is happening, the programme will use the day’s current affairs as a starting point to explore the issues shaping the agenda through the news, the people at the centre of it, and the stories that help us understand what is happening and its impact on society.

‘La Mesa’ will go beyond simply reporting the news, bringing together the people at the heart of the stories, asking questions and listening in order to uncover what lies behind them. Information and journalistic rigour will go hand in hand with conversation and a sense of closeness which, together with Cristina Pardo’s spontaneity and sense of humour, will define the programme’s tone.

‘La Mesa’ will not be a conventional panel discussion or a succession of interviews, but a live programme with a life of its own: open to different angles and perspectives, rigorous in its approach, and combining information and entertainment. It will feature a broad range of contributors, with no fixed schedule, selected according to the latest news and the topics being discussed.
