Adaptation of the first and successful novel by Fernando J. Múñez. The main character is Clara Belmonte, a young woman fleeing from a painful past and arriving in Madrid in 1720 to work in the kitchen of the Castamar palace.
The death of her father accused of betrayal has disrupted her life plans and has made her ill with agoraphobia. She takes refuge in the kitchen to survive and turns her job into her great passion. She pours her hopes, her illusions, and the conviction that we will all be the same when we all eat the same.
In the palace she cooks for Diego, Duke of Castamar, a widower with whom she will gradually fall in love. But it will not be easy for them to live their love: the social class difference and the objection of his mother will be the main obstacles in order to being together.
