1970. Bastuel is a modest fishing village where the boat skippered by Héctor Parrado sank, taking with it several local fishermen. None of the crew members were ever found, and almost every family in the village was affected by the tragedy: mothers who lost their sons, children who lost their fathers and, above all, women who, from one day to the next, found themselves without a husband and unable to be legally recognised as widows. A strange legal limbo. Lucía, Héctor’s wife, along with Maca, Rosa, Berta and Paloma, are among these women. They came together in their grief and found in one another the strength not to give up, forging a strong friendship.
Two years later, the sudden reappearance of five of the missing fishermen causes a new shock. Bewilderment gives way to euphoria, and “the resurrected” are welcomed as heroes. But their return will bring not only joy to the women, but also conflicts and secrets they believed had been buried.
