Vera and Lucas, a couple in their late thirties whose lives have stalled, find a huge apartment at half the market price thanks to a bare ownership deal: they buy it now, but the elderly owner will continue living there until he dies.

What initially seems like the perfect solution soon turns into an obsession when the old man disappears, reappears a changed person, and stops behaving like someone in the final stage of his life. As suspicion, frustration, and increasingly biting dark humor take over, the couple begins to contemplate a plan that is as absurd as it is tempting.
