The filming of ‘Las hijas de la criada’ has already begun, a production by Buendía Estudios Canarias with the participation of Atresmedia. It is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Sonsoles Ónega, which became the best-selling book of 2023 and won the Premio Planeta.
The actresses Verónica Sánchez and Carlota Baró star in the series, which also features Martina Cariddi, Judith Fernández, Álex Villazán, Tomy Aguilera, Álex Gadea, Xoel Fernández, Fede Pérez, Alicia Armenteros, Iolanda Muíños, Alba Loureiro and Alejandro Vergara, among others.
Verónica and Carlota play Inés and Renata, respectively, two women who have just given birth but live in vastly different realities. Inés is the matriarch of the Valdés family, while Renata is the maid. The fiction, a drama set in the early 20th century, offers a portrait of the time through the Valdés family saga. It is set in a Galician manor and a Cuba with a colonial past, and addresses themes such as forbidden love, betrayal, class struggle, envy, secrets…
‘Las hijas de la criada’ is a production by Buendía Estudios Canarias with the participation of Atresmedia that will consist of 8 episodes of 50 minutes each. Montse García and Sonia Martínez are the executive producers of the series, which will be directed by Menna Fité and Alejo Flah.

Galicia, 1900. In the Espíritu Santo manor, two girls, Clara and Catalina, are born. The first belongs to the maid, Renata, while the second is the daughter of the Valdés, Don Gustavo and Doña Inés.
