Rocío Velayos, María Bernardeau, Biel Antón, Kiko Bena, and Miguel Fernández are the protagonists of 'FoQ: The New Generation'.
The legendary Zurbarán school reopens its doors with ‘FoQ. La Nueva Generación’, which will begin filming very soon. The actors Rocío Velayos, María Bernardeau, Biel Antón, Kiko Bena, and Miguel Fernández are the first protagonists announced for the return of one of the most successful Spanish fiction brands of all time, ‘Física o Química’.
‘FoQ. La Nueva Generación’ brings a fresh and aspirational feel, with daring plots and new characters that reflect the reality young people face today. The series will maintain the essence of its predecessor with a new generation of actors who will portray the students of Zurbarán.
The production, which is already in the pre-production phase completing its cast, will begin filming in a few weeks and will continue throughout the summer in locations in the Canary Islands and the Community of Madrid.
‘FoQ. La Nueva Generación’ will consist of eight 50-minute episodes and is a production of Buendía Estudios Canarias in collaboration with Boomerang TV and with the participation of Atresmedia TV.
Sonia Martínez and Carlos García Miranda are the executive producers of Buendía Estudios Canarias. The series is directed by Juanma Pachón and Daniel Romero. Montse García is the director of fiction at Atresmedia TV.
‘Física o Química’, the phenomenon of an entire generation
‘FoQ. La Nueva Generación’ marks the return, with a new season, of ‘Física o Química’, the popular Antena 3 series created by Carlos Montero and premiered in 2008. This show became a phenomenon among young people and catapulted its protagonists, including Úrsula Corberó, Maxi Iglesias, Javier Calvo, Andrea Duro, Angy Fernández, and Adam Jezierski, to fame.
‘Física o Química’ was a tremendous success for Antena 3, revolutionizing the way youth series were made and perceived. It became one of the Spanish series with the greatest international reach, airing in countries such as Bulgaria, Canada, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Monaco, Italy, Portugal, and Latin America.
In 2020, atresplayer reunited its protagonists in ‘Física o Química: el Reencuentro’, a two-episode special that was a huge hit on the platform and social media, demonstrating the enduring power of this fictional brand. Now, a new generation of students arrives on atresplayer with new stories, new plots, and the same essence as the series that was a hit over a decade ago.
This is ‘FoQ: The New Generation’
Adolescence is the time of first experiences: the first drunkenness, the first make-out parties, the first “I love you”… And the first loss.
The new term at Zurbarán begins marked by the loss of a student, prompting the parent cooperative now running the school to make a decision: to create a support group for the students.
Thus, eight very different teenagers end up sharing a space where they will clash intensely but also come to know themselves and share their zest for life. And for love.
