A solar storm that causes a big blackout in the planet’s energy and technology is the connection point of these five stories.
‘Apagón’, the new original series by Movistar Plus+ produced by Buendía Estudios, is filming these days what will be the second episode of the series, directed by Raúl Arévalo (‘Tarde para la ira’). The script is written by Alberto Marini (‘El desconocido’, ‘Mientras duermes’) with Raúl Arévalo and Fran Araújo.
The episode is starred by, among others, Ainhoa Santamaría (‘Élite’, ‘Señoras del HAMPA’), Melina Matthews (‘La Peste’, ‘Sentimos las molestias’), Tomás del Estal (‘Antidisturbios’, ‘La Peste’) and Javier Tena (‘Sin vergüenza’), and it tells how, a few weeks after the blackout, the staff of a hospital must face a new reality. Without diagnostic capability due to lack of machinery and hardly any medicines to treat the patients, doctors do the unthinkable to continue saving as many lives as possible.
The shooting of the episode, that started last January 21st in Madrid, will continue until February 10th in Ciudad Real.
The original series by Movistar Plus+ produced by Buendía Estudios will be released in 2022.
